The Princeton University Art Museum construction will continue until the Spring of 2024. During this time, there will be pedestrian detours around the perimeter of the construction site.
What you need to know:
- A temporary pathway from Elm Drive to Chapel Drive has been established between Clio and Whig and the construction site. This pathway will lead you past Clio, Whig and Murray-Dodge with the construction fence on your right as you approach Chapel Drive.
- A pathway is available between Dodd Hall and the construction site. Please use caution as you approach the driveway next to Dodd Hall between Dodd and Brown, this is the main construction gate for deliveries. There is a flagger stationed at this gate at all times who can assist with crossing in front of the gate.
- A temporary accessible pathway has been established south of Brown. You can travel on the west side of Brown and turn south to head towards Frist Campus Center and Prospect House.
- Starting mid-May 2022, the project will start to receive steel deliveries in anticipation of the installation of steel at the NE and NW corners of the site
What else you need to know:
- The McCosh Walk pathway between Clio as well as the diagonal pathway adjacent to the site will be closed during times when steel deliveries are anticipated. This type of closure will begin on or about May 16, 2022 but will continue intermittently through the Winter semester.
- During closures, pedestrians will be asked to travel around Clio to Chapel Drive where they can then either continue down Chapel Drive or rejoin McCosh Walk via the stairs between Clio and Whig.
- The area that is closed will be sectioned-off with snow-fence and there will be a flagger in place to help direct deliveries into the site and to help direct pedestrians around the pathway closure.

- Throughout the Environmental Studies & School of Engineering and Applied Science construction, pedestrian paths will be impacted on the north side of Ivy Lane / Western Way; the south side of Ivy Lane in front of Lewis Library; the west side of Peyton Hall; and through the site along Roper Lane.
- Pedestrian detours to Lewis Library, Peyton Hall and Fine Hall will be from Washington Road to the south side of these buildings. A temporary accessible pathway has been constructed on the east side of Peyton Hall. ES & SEAS will open in Spring 2025.
What else you need to know:
- The west sidewalk along Washington Road may be blocked on occasion and sidewalk detours will be maintained during the closure.
- Effective January 31, 2022, Ivy Lane and Western Way are closed to all motorists except construction crews between Washington and Fitzrandolph roads on campus.
- Pedestrian access along Ivy Lane and Western Way will be maintained for the duration of the construction project between Washington and Fitzrandolph roads, but the routes will be shifted as construction proceeds. Ivy Lane & Western Way will re-open in Spring 2025.

- A temporary path has been installed parallel to Dillon Court.
- Please use caution as you approach Elm Drive via foot or wheeled device.

- A temporary pedestrian pathway has been established along Guyot Lane, adjacent to Scully, between Scully & Icahn and Lewis Thomas. Once you approach Goheen Walk, you can travel West or East along Goheen Walk.
- Deliveries to the University Health Services | Facilities project will travel up Guyot Lane and cross over Goheen Walk into the site. This is the main construction gate for deliveries. There is a flagger stationed at this gate at all times who can assist with crossing in front of the gate.
- A temporary pathway will turn north (left) towards Guyot, Moffett and Schultz at the corner of Schultz and Goheen Walk. This temporary path will run parallel to west side of Guyot and head north towards McCosh Health Center and Frist Campus Center.
- Access to the west entrance of Guyot will be available from Goheen Walk.
- A set of precast stairs have been installed to take you up to the Cherry Tree Allee, you can turn left to get towards McCosh Health Center or right to get up the stairs to Frist.
- As the utility work continues, fence lines will change frequently. Please use caution when passing through this area and look for pedestrian signage.

Please note there will be construction to install Geo-Exchange piping between McCosh Health Center and Frist Campus Center and on the North Side of Guyot.

To get to Frist Campus Center you will still have several options:

Coming from the Elm Drive / Goheen Walk:

Take Elm to Goheen Walk, utilize the temporary path in place towards Guyot, Moffett and Schultz at the corner of Schultz and Goheen Walk. This temporary path runs parallel to west side of Guyot and head north towards McCosh Health Center and Frist Campus Center.

Access to the west entrance of Guyot will be available from Goheen Walk.
- There are a set of precast stairs that have been installed to take you up to the Cherry Tree Allee, you can turn left to get towards McCosh Health Center or right to get up the stairs to Frist.

- Take Elm Drive and proceed through the portal at Wright Hall. Take the path between 1903 and Walker. Pass Feinberg and McCosh to enter the Frist door between Jones and McCosh Health Center.

Take Pyne Drive to the temporary path parallel to Dillon Court, approach Elm and follow bullet #2 above.

Coming from Nassau Hall:

Head south from Nassau Hall towards Prospect House using the blue path, take the green path between Prospect House and Woolworth and enter Frist on the front of the building.

Coming from Washington Road (from the south):

Utilize Frist Lane and head towards McCosh Health Center. There is an accessible ramp (blue path) installed across Frist Lawn that will take you to the patio outside on the backside of Frist. You can use the accessible entrance on the left side of the building by the retaining wall.

Utilize Washington Road sidewalk, take the sloped pathway up to enter Frist at the Level A or First floor entry on the east side of the building.

Coming from Washington Road (from the north):

Utilize the blue path to come from Washington Road and head south towards Frist, you can:

use the accessible ramp and entrance at the front of the building

the accessible entrance on the east side of the building

or the accessible entrance where Jones and Frist meet.

- Facilities needs to close a portion of the diagonal path between Dillon Gym and Brown Hall to install a new, wider, pedestrian path.
- Pedestrians will be detoured to the path north of this location.
- Work is anticipated to complete by February 6, 2023.
- Work hours will be 8am – 4pm weekdays.
- Please follow the detours, shown by the dashed green lines below, and use caution when in the area.
- Flaggers will be in the area when the work impacts the detour paths temporarily.

- A temporary vehicular detour has been installed along Scholar Way adjacent to Weaver Stadium to accommodate the installation of chilled water piping.
- Pedestrians may also use this pathway to detour around the work.
- The accessible pathway is via the path under the Frick overhang down towards the Architectural Lab and back out to Scholar Way below the work area.
- Please use caution in the area.

University prepares to move historic 91 Prospect building (princeton.edu)
The move of the 91 Prospect building is anticipated to take place between Monday, February 13, 2023 and Friday, February 17, 2023 (weather and conditions dependent). There may be work the weekend of February 11-12 and February 18-19 to complete the move.
- A section of Prospect Avenue between Olden Street and Murray Place (see map below) will be completely closed starting Wednesday, February 1, 2023, until Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
- Vehicular traffic from Washington to Fitzrandolph will be detoured during this time, however local vehicle access to residences, eating clubs, Bobst Hall, the Prospect Avenue Garage, EQuad buildings and the 120 Prospect apartments will be accommodated during the closure.
- Street parking will remain available on either side of Prospect Avenue outside of the section of road closed to accommodate the move.
- Sidewalks will be closed in a section of Prospect Avenue between Olden Street and Murray Place (see map below), however pedestrian access will be maintained via existing pathways along the Prospect Avenue Garage, continuing behind the 110, 114, 116 construction site and the Prospect Avenue Apartments to Murray Place.
- Signage and barriers will be in place to separate move activities.
